YOUR LEGEND BEGINS...

Have you ever played a role playing game that took hours to build your character, and played like a lifeless grind, as you check your phone, waiting for your turn? Tired of games that feel more like solving a math problem against rules lawyers, than experiencing a fantasy adventure with friends? 

Enter the LEGEND gameplay system! A dynamic storytelling platform that encourages narrative "yes-and" improvisation, creative use of game mechanics, and fuels engagement with every new twist! This is achieved by several unique systems...

ULTERIOR MOTIVES...

At the beginning of every adventure session, each hero player chooses a secret "ulterior motive", a unique personal goal for their character they hope to achieve within that ONE play session. It can be as simple as finding a shiny rock to bring home to their tribe, or overthrowing a kingdom and becoming dictator of the world, all up to them!

At the conclusion of that play session each player reveals their ulterior motive, and how successful their character was in achieving it! This gives every player active engagement in the main adventure storyline, WHILE pursuing their own private goal, with the two overlapping and often conflicting in exciting ways!

REWARDING INSPIRATION...

While some games lock you into painfully rigid rulesets that stifle creativity, the LEGEND system actively rewards players' creative use of combat abilities, terrain, and the creation of unique story moments! At any point during the game, the LEGEND MASTER ("LM" - narrator/referee) can choose to reward a player who demonstrates unique creativity in solving a problem or doing something that makes the adventure more fun for everyone, by rewarding them "INSPIRATION DICE". 

This is a unique bonus that can be consumed once by that player at ANY point to re-roll their dice roll that did not go their way. The player chooses from either dice's result, and the story and combat are directly impacted by their inspiration rewarded!

PERSONAL TRINKETS...

Where some games focus on loot acquisition that bump a stat in one direction or another, LEGEND focuses on items of personal value to each hero. At the launch of the adventure, players announce a specific item that is meaningful to their character, which inspires storytelling opportunities to explore emotional moments, and potential conflicts if sacred items are stolen or looted by enemies!

As the adventure progresses, the LEGEND MASTER can introduce fresh items that can impact the story. These can motivate the characters, serve as persistent trophies of adventures, and prove useful bartering items in markets and unscrupulous persuasions!

PERSONALITY TRAITS...

Wish your hero's personality could directly impact the gameplay? AWWW YISSS! With our streamlined personality system, you can choose to distribute points into your preference of charm, intimidation, perception, and guile, and gain direct roll benefits for how you choose to interact with the world!

Want to try to persuade that 10-ton rock monster to let go of your friend, INSTEAD of hurl a fireball at him? Give it a shot! He might just end up being your new best friend "Rocky"!
